Thai Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra made her first official visit to Myanmar on Wednesday and met President Thein Sein in the capital, Nay Pyi Daw.
The visit is aimed at expanding cooperation between the two neighbours.
According to the Thai government, Prime Minister Yigluck has urged Myanmar to re-open Thai-Myanmar friendship bridge at the border between the two countries. The bridge has been closed since July last year.
The two sides discussed anti-drug policy, migrant workers in Thailand as well as energy cooperation.
Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra is scheduled to visit Malaysia, Singapore and Vietnam for her official visit to ASEAN member countries bloc after taking over as Prime Minister in July this year.
