Are Organic Foods Healthier Than Conventional Foods? - as part of the expert series by GeoBeats. Today I am going to talk about a controversial subject. It is whether organic foods are healthier than conventional foods. And with the research that I have done, in my opinion and a lot of studies back this up, that organic foods are more healthy than conventional foods. Number One, they do not have any pesticides or chemical fertilizers, so you are not eating extra chemicals, usually the soils that theses foods are grown in have more nutrients, so you are getting those nutrients in the foods. There have been tests on organic foods as compared to conventional foods, we are talking fruits and vegetables in this case, and the organic ones do have a higher nutritional content. When you are talking about animal protein, like beef and chicken and fish, these are also better if they are raised organically in a more natural way. The conventional raised non-organic cattle and chicken, those have antibiotics, they have hormones, their feed is questionable and they lead pretty miserable lives. So, if you purchase organic animal protein, you can be sure that they are not being fed antibiotics or hormones or rendered animal parts in their feed. So it is much healthier to eat and the animals do lead a healthier live. When it comes to purchasing organic food that are in packages, it is much healthier to buy an organic product as opposed to a conventional product. Because organic products are not going to have added additives, MSG and food colorings and things that were not in the food to begin with. None of these things are healthy for you. In fact, some of them can even be toxic. So, if you are even buying chips and pretzels and crackers and things like that in a package, the organic version will be better.
