In this video host, attorney Ben Glass, interviews attorney Francis Jackson of the law firm of Jackson & MacNichol with the question: What benefits does the Social Security Administration provide and who might be eligible for benefits?
There are two kinds of benefits. There is Supplemental Security Income (SSI) that provides benefits to those who have not worked a lot. But the primary benefit is similar to the retirement benefit, but paid when you are disabled, called Social Security Disability Insurance (SSDI). It is available to any disabled worker from age 21 up. But this is typically for those who have injuries where the problems have become too severe for them to work, no matter what their age.
