The Chao Phraya river is overflowing into its surrounding neighbourhoods, including this market, just 20 minutes from downtown Bangkok.
Despite the water pump at the market selling amulets, water still gushes in.
Some shops remained open, but business owners said they are counting their losses.
(SOUNDBITE) (Thai) 19-YEAR-OLD AMULET SELLER, NATTAWAN NAMUANGRAK, SAYING:
"The economy is bad, I couldn't sell much. Usually I earn at least 3,000 Baht ($97.44 USD), but nowadays I earn less than a thousand. I'm already in much trouble."
The flood has affected a third of the country since July, and killed at least 289 people.
Disaster authorities said it is the worst flood in 50 years.
