Lady Liberty celebrates her birthday with a bang.
Fireworks light up the New York harbor as Americans celebrate the 125 anniversary of the Statue of Liberty.
The monument was originally a gift from France and was dedicated in 1886 by president Grover Cleveland.
The statue will be closed from Saturday for repairs, expected to take a year to complete.
