A whistleblower reports unsafe work conditions to superiors or to OSHA and should be protected from adverse action in the workplace. On occassion, however, employers at companies that must conform to OSHA standards, like those with forklift operators, harass and threaten employees that report OSHA issues.

OSHA protects forklift operators who are threatened with employee termination, demotion, unfavorable changes in work schedules, intimidation and threats due to reporting jobsite issues.
