Egyptian security forces used batons and teargas, early on Monday, to disperse pockets of protesters gathered in Cairo's Tahrir Square.
Protesters fled down sidestreets, while security forces destroyed their makeshift tents.
The protesters are demanding that generals who took charge in February quit.
Earlier in the day, violence broke out around the square.
Protesters threw stones and hurled petrol bombs at riot police.
At least 10 people have died in the past three days of clashes.
