STORY: "X Factor" creator Simon Cowell says he was probably overconfident when he launched the U.S. version of the TV talent show. But at a news conference on Monday (December 19) Cowell pledged that the two-part finale this week would be worth watching and that any of the three finalists was worthy of the unprecedented $5 million recording contract for the winner.
The acerbic British entrepreneur and "X Factor" judge said that Justin Bieber, rapper Pitbull and R&B singer Ne-Yo would be among the superstars performing on Thursday's two-part finale, before the winner of the first season is revealed.
"The X Factor" launched in the United States in September after months of hype from Cowell, who predicted it would beat his old show "American Idol" as the most watched show on American television.
