Why it's important to wear your seat belt - Adrian Pang video from DirectAsia.com - this could save your life and that of your loved ones in a car accident.

Did you know that you’re twice as likely to die in a crash if you don’t wear a seatbelt? An unfastened passenger travelling at just 50km/h crashes and suffers the same impact as falling from a third storey building. Chances of an adult surviving that are slim so what chance does a child have? All too often in Singapore we see children seated on an adult’s lap in the front seat. In a collision at 50 km/h an infant would be violently propelled forward against the dashboard or through the windscreen. Despite what parents think, it would be impossible to hold onto a child against such force. Take a look at our video here and see what happens to the cake! It’s a good indication of just how powerless any passenger would be against such impact. A properly fitted child restraint system can reduce fatal injuries by as much as 75 per cent.
