It's a girl for Beyonce and Jay-Z. Beyonce gave birth in a New York hospital on Saturday (January 07). She reportedly delivered the baby via c-section. Her name, according to various media outlets, is Blue Ivy.
The National Society of Film Critics - a group made up of 58 prominent movie critics - have selected Lars von Trier's drama "Melancholia" as the best picture of 2011, giving the film an unexpected Oscar boost. The society also named the movie's star, Kirsten Dunst, as 2011's best actress.
The Palm Springs International Film Festival held its annual gala and it was a celebrity-packed event. Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie posed for photos, as did super star George Clooney - who was honored with the festival's "Chairman's Award."
Box office numbers are in and the fright film "The Devil Inside" scared up 34.5 million dollars over the weekend - well above industry expectations.
Tom Cruise's "Mission: Impossible - Ghost Protocol," slid to number two with 20.5 million.
And finally, "Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows," rounded out the top three with 14.1 million dollars.
