(ROUGH CUT ONLY - NO REPORTER NARRATION)
A bushfire threatened around 100 homes around Syndey, Australia on Wednesday.
The fire flared up on Wednesday afternoon, and authorities said it spread rapidly because of windy conditions, which stoked the flames and pushed the blaze towards houses.
Large areas of bushland were scorched, but no injuries have been reported.
A second fire burned near the settlement of San Remo, around 100 kilometres north of Sydney.
Helicopters released water on the blaze as large clouds of smoke billowed skywards.
