The Everton No. 1 made a clearance from inside his penalty area that was propelled by a strong wind and allowed by Bolton to bounce — straight over the head of opposing goalkeeper Adam Bogdan and into the net. Howard did not celebrate the goal, saying he felt "awful" because of how Bogdan must have been feeling.
