Secret talks are underway between Israel and Syria in an event to coax Damascus away from Iran's clutches. Prime Minister Olmert is conveying messages to Damascus through a third party and Defense Minister Ehud Barak has appointed Uri Sagi to conduct any future talks and negotiations with Syria on his behalf. Javier Solana the EU policy chief visiting in the region says Europe strongly supports the return of the Golan Heights to Syria, and added no peace deal will be complete without Syria being included.11/14/07
