Mourners gathered to pay respects to Sir Edmund Hillary, a legend of exploration and mountaineering. The New Zealand native was laid to rest with a state funeral Tuesday. Thousands gathered to watch his procession pass through the streets of Auckland. Sir Hillary was the first to climb Mount Everest. He did so in 1953. 01/22/2008
