US Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice echoed criticisms against Israel for continued building in the West Bank. She testified before a Congressional subcommittee on the issue in a rare statement of criticism toward Israel. She said building apartments in Jewish villages situated in the West Bank does nothing to create peace, and assured lawmakers that American money is not being spent in settlements. 3/13/2008
