U.S. Representative Gabrielle Giffords bid farewell to her constituents on Monday.
She will step down from office this week to focus on recovering from an assasination attempt last year.
Giffords toured a center for family assistance, named in her honor after the tragedy.
Among those gathered for her farewell were a number of people present on the day she was shot.
Giffords was at close range when a gunman opened fire at her and bystanders who were gathered for a meet-and-greet.
The injury on her head has left her with faltering speech and restricted movement.
