Despite worldwide condemnation, at least one profession has not given Israel the cold shoulder. At the annual Prestigious New York Advertising Festival, no less than seven Israeli companies starred in the final with a record number of 26 candidates. This year the first time in its 53 year history, the contest was held in Shanghai, and Israelis were truly the stars of the show. The advertising agency Shalmor Avnon Amichai won a special prize from the United Nations for its campaign against AIDS. The Agency was delighted with the award explaining that it was international recognition of its work. Jackie Eldan speaking fom the Israeli consulate in Shanghai was reported as saying that in light of Israel's relationship with the UN, an award from them means double.
