Fatah accuses Dahlan of poisoning Arafat

A report issued by the Palestinian Authority earlier this week have accused former Gaza strongman Mohammed Dahlan of poisoning Yasser Araft when he was hospitalized in Paris. The report appears to be an effort to discredit Dahlan politically as there is no evidence to support the accusations. They claim that Dahlan sent poison disguised as medicine to the Paris hospital, and that he ordered the former Palestinian leader's guards to burn the vials the poison was sent in. Arafat died in November 2004 in Paris under mysterious circumstances. At the time Israel was accused of poisoning the leader. Dahlan called the accusations false and baseless. In a telephone call from Dubai he declared that the Palestinian President Abbas should spend more time preparing for independence instead of fighting him.
