Israel's position in the Middle East has deteriorated in the wake of the recent uprisings in the Arab world, Jordan's King Abdullah II warned. Speaking to a group of academics in Amman, the Jordan king described Israel's position as "more problematic that it has been in the past." Meanwhile plans are underway in Jordan to stage a million man protest on Thursday near Israel's Embassy in Amman. Organizers of the protest said they plan to try and break into the building and take down the Israeli flag. In recent days Jordanian security forces have boosted their presence around the embassy compound and deployed two armored vehicles near the building. Since the storming of Israel's embassy in Cairo over the weekend Israel has raised the level of alert in embassies around the world.
