An Israeli startup firm The Gifts Project was recently purchased by eBay to the tune of over $20 million. The Israeli company will become eBay's development center in Israel and will focus on building social shopping platforms and product features for eBay Marketplaces. The Israeli company was found by Ron Gura and currently has a staff of eight employees but plans to hire more programmers in the near future. A statement issued by the company said the purchase will allow it to achieve its mission of getting people gifts they really deserve allowing friends and family to chip in for each other's gifts.
