STORY: Adverse weather conditions did not stop Queen Elizabeth and the Duke of Edinburgh from attending a church service in Norfolk on Sunday (February 5), on the eve of the monarch's Diamond Jubilee anniversary.
The royal couple braved snowy conditions and joined the congregation at the Church of St. Peter and St. Paul in West Newton, in the heart of the sovereign's private estate, Sandringham, in eastern England.
They attended a 45-minute service led by Reverend Jonathan Riviere after which well-wishers greeted the Queen and offered her flowers.
The pair also visited the village hall and were cheered by members of the public on their exit.
The Queen's Diamond Jubilee will be celebrated on Monday (February 6), Accession Day, when her reign hits the 60-year-milestone.
