Three weeks after the destructive snow and ice storms of January 2012, the snow and ice are gone, the sun is shining brightly, and I went outside wearing shorts and a t-shirt to shoot this video without ever getting a chill. Trees and shrubs all over Pierce County, at least in the Tacoma and Puyallup areas, were damaged by the storms; everywhere you look you can see trees with bare, white wood where branches were broken off. Neither young nor old trees were spared. Decorative trees that dot the parking lots of shopping malls and other businesses were broken up by the storms. Many branches fell into the road leading out from my place; some too heavy to simply be picked up and moved out of the way, requiring a chain saw to cut them into pieces that could be easily moved. 1080HD format reduced to 640 x 480.
