DuPont has announced food security goals which the company will track along with its sustainability goals. The goals, to be met by 2020, include investing $10 billion in research and development; introducing 4,000 new products focused on producing more food; enhancing nutrition, food, and agricultural sustainability; facilitating two million engagements of young people around the world in educational opportunities; and improving the livelihoods of three million farms and their rural communities through collaboration and investments that strengthen agricultural systems. The DuPont food security goals were developed from a report issued last year by the DuPont Advisory Committee on Agriculture Innovation and Productivity for the 21st Century, chaired by former U.S. Senator Tom Daschle.
