Chinese Vice President Xi Jinping has left Beijing for the US and will meet with President Barack Obama and other top officials in Washington tomorrow. Xi, 58, will be under heavy scrutiny from the media during his trip, as he is widely expected to succeed Hu Jintao as president of China when Hu retires next year.
Xi's visit will also include stops in Iowa and California. It comes slightly more than a year after Hu traveled to Washington, an event that we covered in a two-part series in January of last year. From the Vault we present the first animation, Hu Jintao jets into Washington.
