Gunmen free convicts in Nigerian prison

The scene of a prison break-out in central Nigeria - after gunmen storm the facility and free more than a hundred inmates.

Authorities say the gunmen used explosives to blow up the prison gate and roof and free 119 prisoners.

One warden was killed in the attack.

Radical Islamist sect Boko Haram was behind a prison-break out in northern Nigeria two years ago when around 700 prisoners were freed.

According to Nigerian media, there were no Boko Haram members being held in the prison.

Twenty-nine escapees have reportedly been recaptured since the break-out.
