ROUGH CUT - NO REPORTER NARRATION
Grieving family members and friends of pop star Whitney Houston visited the funeral home in Newark, New Jersey, to view her body before she was finally laid to rest on Saturday (February 18th).
They included record producer and mentor Clive Davis whose pre-Grammy Award party Houston had been planning to attend on the night she died at the Beverly Hilton hotel, a week earlier.
The singer's cousin Dionne Warwick was also among the guests at the private viewing service, along with her mother Cissy Houston and 18-year-old daughter Bobbi Kristina.
Houston's funeral was due to take place at the New Hope Baptist Church where she groomed her voice singing in the church choir.
A star-studded line-up was expected to attend the invitation-only funeral including Elton John, Beyonce, rapper Jay-Z, Oprah Winfrey, and Bill Cosby.
It was not known if singer Bobby Brown, whom Houston divorced in 2007 after a tumultuous 15-year marriage that began as Houston's music career started to slide, would be there.
