One of the most awaited shows of Paris fashion week finally premiered on Tuesday (March 06), Chanel.

Crystals were the not-so-subtle theme of the event. Not only protruding out of the catwalk, but also on the clothes; the shapes were everywhere - from the power shoulders of a wool coat down to crystal-shaped heels.

Sparkles were also ubiquitous, from sheer skirts to gold and silver cigarette-shaped trousers which were worn under tunics.

Chanel designer Karl Lagerfeld was the man behind the crystal extravaganza. But while he tried to keep the focus of his show on the clothes, the media was more interested in his comments about singer Adele, whom he reportedly called "fat" according to various outlets. Not true, said Lagerfeld.

SOUNDBITE: Karl Lagerfeld saying (English):

"I said for such a beautiful girl she was a little round, that's not the same thing. That was totally misquoted and in another interview in an English paper I'd said a few days before, that I thought she had a marvelous voice, that she was very gifted and beautiful enough to be a little round. Being a little round is not being fat."

While Adele wasn't in the crowd, the show did attract a host of other celebrities including Alicia Keys and Katy Perry.
