Amateur video obtained from social media website appeared to show an explosion at a mosque in the rebellious city of Homs on Friday.

Activists said tank rounds and mortar bombs crashed into opposition districts in Homs, killing 20 people.

More deaths were reported elsewhere in the country, with at least 24 killed in Idlib.

In another amateur video, hundreds of people appeared to be taking part in a funeral procession march in Damascus on Thursday.

Reuters cannot independently verify the content of the videos.

The U.N. has said Syrian security forces have killed over 7,500 people since the start of the uprising began a year ago.
