For anyone who's ever wanted to take the family station wagon off road, VW has created the Passat Alltrack. It really can take the road less travelled. A robust fender, broad wheel arches and side skirts, and above all an underbody guard --front and rear -- set the Alltrack apart from VW's other station wagons. The motor's rpm is also optimized for slow driving in rough conditions.The diesel version we tested produced 350 Newton meters of torque at a relatively low 1750 rpm.
