It says that websites are old hat.
No one cares about websites any more. No one reads blogs or
browses articles. They don’t even check their email.
Instead, they use social networking sites to discover everything
they want to know and to stay in touch with their friends.
Of course, you shouldn’t believe everything you hear. Websites and
blogs aren’t under threat at all. In fact, they seem to be doing
better than ever as publishers figure out what makes users come
back and readers follow them with RSS feeds and out of sheer love
and loyalty.
But that doesn’t mean you should ignore social networking sites. On
the contrary, the rise of social networking is proving to be a huge
opportunity for marketers.
