Keeping your mobile (or cell if that's what you prefer to call it) phone ready to go at all times means knowing when to charge it. If keeping the battery healthy and happy for as long as possible is your goal, letting it run down to zero at least once per week before plugging it in and charging it up to full is recommended. In terms of convenience, I find it helpful to charge overnight so it's ready to go in the morning.
