In this video I will teach you how you can identify a disc herniation based on the symptoms you are feeling.
When you have a herniated disc, the fluid inside the disc is pushed out and can press on adjacent nerves. When the pressure inside the disc increases you notice the following symptoms:
1. Numbness and tingling in the hands and feet
2. Decreased sensation in the extremities
3. Weakness in the extremities
4. Pain in the area of the herniation
You may have a herniated disc if you feel these symptoms when you sneeze, cough, laugh, and push when you go to the bathroom. All these actions increase the pressure inside a disc and can bring about increased pain, which helps to diagnose a herniation especially if you experience pain traveling from one area to another as is the case with sciatica.
