Thousands of expatriates are returning to Jordan after losing their jobs. But Jordanians who thought they were secure at home are also feeling the pinch.

The ranks of the unemployed now include those recently laid off from Jordan's largest bank, a week after it announced record profits and said it had no intention of laying off staff.
