Video unverified by Reuters downloaded from social media websites show thousands of people in different parts of Syria attending funerals for victims believed to be killed by government troops in recent days.

This procession in Damascus shows mourners parading the body of the victim through the crowd.

... as protesters chant 'Father of the martyr, raise your head high."

Another unverified video shows mourners wearing bright Red Crescent uniforms to mark the death of a Syrian Red Crescent volunteer who was shot dead last week.

Witnesses say the volunteer was killed while in a vehicle clearly marked with the Red Crescent emblem.

Also in Damascus Monday, protesters who support President Bashar al-Assad rallied in front of the Central Bank which was hit by militant grenades last week.

Anti-government demonstrations have been going on in Syria for over a year. The United Nations says at least 9,000 people have been killed by government troops during the uprising.

Assad's officials say 2,600 of it's personnel have died.
