Earlier this week, representatives from the rival Palestinian political parties Fatah and Hamas were supposed to meet at reconciliation talks in Cairo. The talks collapsed at the last minute when reports emerged that Hamas would not be attending.

Sir David asks Palestinian finance minister Omar Abdel-Razeq if the rift between the two parties can be mended and what a divided Palestine would mean for the peace process.

And also, the G20, the group of 20 leading countries, are on their way to Washington DC to try to find a solution to the global economic crisis. But a key player won't be present US President-elect Barack Obama. The world economy is entering a major downturn, and something needs to be done, but what can we expect from the Washington Summit?
