The two types of herpes are oral (HSV-1) and genital (HSV-2). The oral herpes symptoms may include a fever, a sore throat, swollen glands, and fever blisters which another name for cold sores. The characteristic genital herpes symptom are fluid-filled blisters that become painful sores. A crust will cover these sores as they heal which may take as long as a couple of weeks.
