The health of the Thailand's widely-revered king is raising concerns about the country's political future.

The 81-year-old monarch Bhumibol Ayaduliev has been in hospital since late September, but the royal palace says his situation is improving.

Thousands of Thais have been gathering outside the hospital to pray for their leader.
