Doctors in the US are using advances in technology and virtual reality to help burns victims suffering high levels of pain and discomfort.

Patients can escape into the virtual reality of games like "Snow World", with brain scans done on patients who have used the therapy showing a decrease in pain-related brain activity.

The virtual reality game is currently being studied and evaluated in eight hospitals around the US.
