Amateur video out of Syria shows demonstrators back on the streets in a town near Homs.

The video, which could not be independently verified by Reuters appears to show shots fired on a water tower. This comes a day after two bombs killed at least 55 people in Damascus.

More footage purportedly out of Aleppo shows demonstrators running through the streets amid the sound gunfire. Later there were reports of an explosion near ruling party headquarters.

On the outskirts of Damascus more footage shows UN monitors making their way through crowds. The opposition Syrian National Council said Friday that the UN peace plan has been quote "dead from the start."

Demonstrators continue to take to the streets calling for change. The United Nations says more than 9,000 people have been killed in Syria since the uprising began more than a year ago., The Syrian government blames the violence on foreign backed insurgents.
