Following recent incursions, India and China are at loggerheads over the longest disputed border in the world.

As the row threatens to escalate, India's national Security Council has called a high-level meeting to discuss relations with Beijing.

Although both governments have publicly tried to downplay the Chinese incursions as routine incidents that occur due to differences in perception about the Line of Actual Control (LAC), there are anxieties that repeated incidents signal Beijing's hardening stance on the border issue.

What does this mean for relations between the two countries? And is Beijing seriously worried by India's rise on the world stage?
