Both panels are made from the same data from the High-Resolution Imager on Deep Impact over a 16-hour period on October 26, 2010, about 8 days before the closest approach to Hartley 2. Two jets are visible. One appears at 15:20 and rotates with the comet about 90 degrees before shutting off. A larger one turns on at 01:00. The right-hand panel has had an average comet coma subtracted in order to emphasize the changes in appearance of the jets. Both panels are made from the same data from the High-Resolution Imager on Deep Impact over a 16-hour period on October 26, 2010, about 8 days before the closest approach to Hartley 2.
