Umar Farouk Abdulmutallab, the Nigerian who allegedly tried to explode a US bound airliner on Christmas day, spent three years studying at the University College London (UCL).
He was also the president of the university's Islamic Society, which has since been under intense scrutiny - along with UCL administration.
The UK is setting up a panel to consider ways to prevent extremism while protecting freedom of speech.
