A victory parade by returning PKK fighters who were part of a "peace" group who crossed over the border from Iraq into Turkey last week is threatening to derail a new phase in relations between Ankara and the Kurdish population.

For the past six months, the Turkish government and the country's Kurdish movement have been trying to work out a path to peace, after 25 years of armed conflict.
