Toyota's troubles over its massive recalls are mounting.
The company has confirmed that US prosecutors and regulators have demanded it hand over documents relating to the acceleration and braking systems in some its cars.
The subpoena comes just two days before Akio Toyoda, the president of the beleagured motor manufacturer, faces the first of three congressional hearings over the mass recall.
