A new confrontation has emerged between the state and the church in Egypt.

The country does not recognise a civil marriage, where a person's marital status depends on the laws of his religion.

But the high court has ruled that Coptic Christians can re-marry following divorce, something their church forbids.

The decision has sparked outrage in the Coptic community, as Al Jazeera's Rawya Rageh reports. (June 11, 2010)
