A working CRT computer monitor was submerged in used transformer insulating oil.
Just to prove the fact that it will work as an oil cooled / insulated CRT.
Generally CRT's high voltage components don't like water but will handle oil.
This used TX oil would have a break down voltage of around 60 kV / inch.

Don't try this at home as high voltages are present !
