As Italy prepares to celebrate its 150 year anniversary, divisions between the wealthy north and the poorer south remain.

Northern League members of the government claim the north props up the south.

Meanwhile, in the south, the mafia is strong, while money laundering and corruption diverts much-needed cash from the legal economy.
