A 12 Volts SLA battery was taken apart to reveal the inside.
It is clearly visible that the positive plates have deteriorated, while the negative plates are almost fully intact.
I did discharge the battery fully before taking it apart.
As batteries have H2SO4 acid in them, safety goggles are a must, just in case you get it in your eyes.
Also one of the cells still has the 2.1 volts across it most likely because the series arrangement has gone open circuit.
The risk of a short is always present.
Be careful opening one of these up.
