Trumpets and fanfare greeted Britain's Queen Elizabeth II on Tuesday (June 12) as the monarch hosted a garden party in Norfolk.

3,500 guests gathered in the gardens of the Sandringham Estate to mark 60 years of the Queen's reign.

Prince Andrew accompanied his mother while greeting guests, as the Queen's husband, Prince Philip, was still recovering from a bladder infection.

The party was thrown to thank those living in Norfolk and Suffolk for their contributions to the local community.

This was the first garden party to be held at Sandringham since an event in 2002 to mark the Golden Jubilee.
