TV9 News : Actor Diganth Claims Innocence in Car Accident Case : Diganth, who was accused of ramming a motorist, few days back, came out to give clarification on Wednesday (June 20) and claimed his innocence in the press meet called by him. The young actor said that the complainant is trying to use his celebrity status to earn some quick bucks.

According to Diganth, he was returning from a dinner party from his friend's place when the incident took place. The driver of his car accidentally hit the mudguard of the biker Syed Zain, when the car was being reversed. Immediately, he got down from the car to see whether Syed was hurt and found that there was a slight damage on his bike for which he agreed to bear the expense and gave his number.

However, the biker changed his tune the next day and started blackmailing him of going to public and blowing up the issue. Syed, who did not know that Diganth was an actor when the incident occurred, demanded Rs 25,000 to close the chapter and he (Diganth) was not keen to bow down to his demands.

Now, Diganth is ready to sue him for unnecessarily dragging him into the controversy and accusing him of driving under the influence. Though Syed is now ready to compromise and asking him to pay only for the damages, the Pancharangi star is not let go him, as he has tried to defame him.

On June 19, Syed filed the complaint for rash and negligent driving at the Shivajinagar traffic police. He had accused that Diganth, in inebriated state, rammed his bike on June 16 around 11:30 pm and 12 am near Haj camp on Nandidurg Road. Then, the actor requested not to file a complaint and promised to pay him for the damages done by him. But the actor changed his stand when he called him next day.
